a saturday show is a show that I watch on a saturday morning with coffee. usually it's something bad, but sometimes we watch something that's actually good. Here's the timeline of saturday shows:
- the nutshack
- the one that started it all. You know it's a good saturday show when you can't watch it all in one go the first time. You give up thinking you'll never watch the rest of it, and then you get curious about what happened next and go back to it.
- ctrl + alt + del animated series
- eiken
- sausage party (film, watched on freevee (formerly known as imdbtv), with sessions split by ad breaks
- a dark age of various one offs. most things were bad in a boring way.
- spaced cats (film on tubi, with sessions split by ad breaks)
- the misty green sky (film on tubi, but this one was too good to stop with ad breaks. watched it in one go)
- revolutionary girl utena
- this is when we said fuck it what if we watched something good? but the concept of the saturday show is quite ritualistic, and the formula for utena episodes is also formulaic/ritualistic, so it naturally fit. I dunno man, I don't make the rules.
- a bunch of stuff not worth mentioning. a dark age.
- chargeman ken
- we wound up unironically enjoying this one. chargeman ken rules
- a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. tried different shows but nothing stuck. another dark age.
- dragon ball
unordered list of shows we tried, but didn't complete (usually less than a full episode)
- she-zow
- COPS (animated TV series)
- kevin spencer
- the mr. bean cartoon
- little bush
- the dilbert cartoon
- the milton milton show
- several unfunny 2010's canadian adult animated comedies
- heil honey I'm home
- whatever the latest angry video game nerd video was at the time
- uhh
